Aguila was built upon the premise of providing product details to an audience that is engaged with a longstand brand. The core effort was to get ammunition products listed for the customers that were longtime loyal fans of the company, as well as newer enthusiasts that wanted to learn about the range of product offering, specifically the .22LR line that Aguila is famous for.

    – loading quickly and showcasing product to the user

  • In order to quickly engage with the audience, the site needed tools to collect user data and build , as well as develop an email marketing audience

Do more with a simple idea

Eightfold helped excuted on a site that needed to showcase products in a way that helped highlight the best aspects of what we offer.

Execution

Execution

The Eightfold team leveraged a headless architecture using Strapi as the content management solution and tied that into a front-end with Gatsby.js (a React.js framework). The use of Gatsby.js provided a complete solution for ensuring that content loaded fast and the site was optimized for user experience. Our design focused on highlighting products and remaining brand focused. Design also focused heavily on ammunition products and was structured around that purpose. The use of Strapi was predicated on the headless implementation, but also because of its open source code and transferability.

Why Headless Gatsby?

Eightfold chose to use Strapi and Gatsby.js to build a headless website for Aguila Ammunition due to the numerous advantages this combination offers. By leveraging Strapi as a headless CMS and Gatsby.js as the frontend framework, Eightfold created a powerful, flexible, and high-performance solution.

The combination of Strapi and Gatsby.js provides enhanced performance, with Gatsby's static site generation and pre-rendering techniques leading to faster load times and improved user experience. This approach results in blazing-fast websites, as Gatsby automates code-splitting, image optimization, and resource prefetching. Additionally, the headless architecture offers improved security by separating the content from the presentation layer, making the website less vulnerable to attacks. The decoupled nature of this setup also allows for greater scalability and flexibility, enabling Eightfold to easily manage content.

03

Delivery

Delivery

The resulting product was a completely custom product focused experience with unique product pages, emphasis on categorical search and discovery, and a power set of tools for content management through the use of Strapi. Each platform plays an important role in delivery and success for the platform. The end result had several key wins.

  • The website averages 30,000 users per month

  • 3 month design & build timeline

  • Created a system that was unique to their search and discovery requirements

  • High visibility within the search engines

Product State

Aguila is still using this current platform and has experienced a surge in growth in recent years due to the schema data used, as well as the rapid load times. The use of smart technology, good strategic marketing tactics and of course a product in high demand, fueled a very successful relaunch with the new website. We also salvaged this from a prior attempt with a different agency that was not playing ball and was increasing charges to finish the work!
