Berry Divine

Request.

Berry Divine wanted to move off the WordPress platform and make some key design updates. They had been working against the conditions of CMS that did not require any direct management and wanted more freedom in design opportunity. The goal was to open up design, create a product that could be managed by developers, and target some of the issues with site load speeds.

Additionally, despite being an Arizona-based business, Berry Divine had developed a strong presence online at a national level of visibility. Therefore, the site needed to maintain its position in the search market. It also needed to drive more opportunity in areas around their newer products and further local search goals as they added locations across the state.

Key Aspects.
  • Deliver a product that could be easily and efficiently managed by a development team
  • Cut load times and ensure optimized site speeds
  • Maintain search engine standings
  • Create more opportunities around new product offerings and locations
  • Make content (from a development standpoint) easy to add and manage
  • “Open design up” such that the restrictions of a templated site didn’t hamper desired goals and effects

Execution.

Eightfold designers quickly stripped out unnecessary design features and heavy-handed, redundant content. This cultivated space that favored designs focused on presenting the great-looking food to the user. Our development team used a quick setup stack that ensured the sites were fast, and site managers could easily add future content as needed. We worked in tandem with development to provide all of the necessary SEO resources and tactics to ensure no value would be lost on relaunch.

Why static matters

Static site generation is an incredibly powerful tool in a developers toolbox, especially when it comes to storefronts that have a physical, brick-and-mortar location. Meeting your customers as quickly as possible when they’re out-and-about, looking for vital business information, is key to custom acquisition. Static sites enable developers to reach those customers exactly how they want to be reached, with nothing slowing that transaction down.
